New Notary Class & Exam: 9am - 12:30pm

This course & exam are statewide requirements for anyone who wishes to become an Ohio notary public. The purpose of the class is to give a basic overview of notary laws, practices, and responsibilities.

Topics include:
• Notary jurisdiction
• Executing a jurat & acknowledgement
• Stamp requirements
• Certificate requirements
• Permissible fees
• Real life scenarios
• Prohibited acts and more!

Are you a licensed Ohio Attorney who has a principal office in Ohio? To become an Ohio notary public you must complete this 3-hour education course. Attorneys are exempt from the exam and BCI background check.

Background checks are offered through the Butler County Educational Service Center prior to our notary class starting. The cost is $30.00 with a check or money order made payable to B.C.E.S.C. and you must arrive 30 minutes prior to class so that you can get your background check completed. Unfortunately, due to construction being done, the background checks will not be available for our classes in June and July 2025. Background checks will resume in August 2025 and continue thereafter.

Are you renewing your notary commission but want a more in-depth review? Renewal applicants are welcome to attend this 3-hour education course for a discounted fee. Renewals are exempt from the exam.


PLEASE NOTE:
Notary classes are never held at the BCBA office. Class location is at the Butler County Educational Services Center in Hamilton, Ohio.

No refunds are offered for a class registration. If you are unable to attend the class you registered for, your payment may be applied to a future class date within 6 months.
